Privacy policy

Nigeria Blockchain & AI Week ("NBA Week", "we") is organised by Coin News Extra. This policy explains what personal data we collect through nigeriablockchainandaiweek.com and the NBA Week app (iOS, Android and nigeriablockchainandaiweek.com/app), why, and the choices you have. We process personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
What we collect
- Forms and orders on the website: name, email, phone, company and the details you enter when you apply to speak, sponsor, partner or exhibit, or buy a booth or gala ticket, including any logo or image you upload.
- Event registration: we register attendees through Luma. We import the guest list (name, email, ticket type and approval status) so your pass can appear in the app.
- App account: your email address and password (or your Google account name and email if you sign in with Google), and any profile details you add, such as job title, organisation, country, industry, LinkedIn and bio.
- App activity: sessions you save to your schedule, check-ins at the venue, NBA Points you earn, minutes of livestream watched, and which sponsors you view or visit in the app.
- Camera: only event staff use the camera, to scan attendee passes. Images are not stored or sent anywhere; only the scanned code is checked.
How we use it
- To run the event: confirm registrations, issue passes and tickets, check people in and send event emails and receipts.
- To run NBA Points and the leaderboard. The leaderboard shows only your first name and last initial, and you can hide yourself from it in your profile.
- To give sponsors and partners aggregate numbers (for example, how many attendees viewed or visited them). We do not share your name or contact details with sponsors through the app.
- To measure and improve our marketing. The website uses the LinkedIn Insight Tag to measure ad performance.
Who we share it with
We use service providers who process data on our behalf: Google Firebase (hosting, sign-in and database), Luma (registration), NOWPayments (crypto payments), Mailtrap (email delivery) and LinkedIn (website analytics). Livestreams and videos are played through YouTube, whose own privacy policy applies when you watch. We do not sell personal data.
How long we keep it
We keep event and order records for as long as needed to run the event and meet legal and accounting obligations. App profiles, points and activity are kept until you delete your account or we close the app after the event season.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your app account: open the app, go to More → Your profile → Delete my account. This removes your profile, points, schedule and watch history. Your Luma registration is not affected.
- You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, or object to how we use it, by emailing partnership@nigeriablockchainandaiweek.com.
- You can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission if you believe we have mishandled your data.
Children
The event, website and app are for professionals and are not directed at children under 16.
